The editta braun company celebrates thirty years of artistic work: powerful and imaginative, free, creative and critical, decidedly international and independent of all fashions. 35 full-length productions, 14 short pieces, 6 films, 513 guest performances in 32 countries: this is the result of the persistent artistic activity and seemingly inexhaustible creativity of choreographer and director Editta Braun. For the anniversary, Layaz explores unknown terrain. In Cat Jimenez, experienced in Urban Dance and in the discipline of "Battle," an originally deeply male aesthetic combines with feminist contemporary dance. Layaz combines the artistic exploration of this terrain with the question of identity, freedom and the "other" inherent in each of us - uncannily strange and strangely familiar.
After the show, the audience celebrates together with the artists of former times and nowadays: A short video about the trio Fanghoumé (performed by Martyna Lorenc, Anna Maria Müller and Sonia Borkowicz), recently premiered in Senegal, documents the return of the company to the origin of the Luvos-series in February 2019. Another one looks back at highlights of e b c 's work over the past three decades. And Thierry Zaboitzeff offers a short concert.
The jubilee festival: an encounter between the public and the different e b c - "generations" with the past and present of a joint artistic project!
